One of the most cost effective types of binding, Saddle Stitching is how a traditional booklet is made. Pages are folded and stapled on the spine, then trimmed to size. Suitable for booklets up to 80 pages. Page counts must be in multiples of 4 pages.
Perfect Bound books are like traditional paper-back books. Pages are glued together at the spine using hot melt glue and a card cover is then wrapped around the pages. Suitable for books from 40 pages up to 500 pages dependent on the type of paper used. Professional appearance, but books will not lay flat when opened.
A new development on Saddle Stitching, Squareback Booklets are folded and stapled in the same way, however the spine is then squared off with high pressure rollers creating a more professional look than standard saddle stitching. Pages must be in multiples of 4 pages and is suitable for booklets up to 100 pages.
A series of holes is punched down the spine and a metal 'O-Shaped' wire is inserted to hold the pages. Very practical for things like workbooks and manuals, as the pages can lay flat when open. Suitable for books up to 400 pages (200 sheets) dependent upon the type of paper used.
